Shafqat Islam

Shafqat Islam is the President at Optimizely. Prior to this, he was the co-founder and CEO of Welcome, the leading content marketing platform and Gartner Leader 7 years running. In 2021, Welcome was acquired by Optimizely. Since its acquisition, Shafqat has served several leadership positions at Optimizely including General Manager and Chief Marketing Officer. As President, he focuses on what he loves most, building great products while reinventing the way marketers work.

As an immigrant founder, Shafqat is originally from Bangladesh, born in Thailand, raised in Switzerland, and now lives in New York. He believes anyone can build a great company regardless of background or location.
