Episerver Launches Global 'Digital Ninety-Nines' Initiative, Celebrating the Contributions of Women in Technology

Launching in Conjunction with International Women’s Day, Campaign Recognizes the Contributions and Inspirations of Women in IT, Digital Marketing and Tech

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Episerver™, a leading provider of digital marketing, content management and digital commerce solutions, today announced the launch of the “Digital Ninety-Nines,” a new initiative that showcases the body of work and viewpoints of women in the areas of information technology and digital marketing.

Named after Amelia Earhart’s 1929 international organization of women pilots, the Digital Ninety-Nines campaign includes visionary commentary, interviews and business and technology tips from high-profile women executives at Microsoft, IBM, investment firm Provasi Capital and technology appliances supplier Electrolux, as well as Episerver.

The campaign content can be found online at: episerver.com/digital99s, and includes a series of podcasts from leading women in digital marketing and technology. The series kicks off with an interview from Kellie Richter, Chief Marketing Officer at Provasi Capital, discussing her experiences working in the financial services industry, leading a major rebrand and taking a seat on the board. Also featured is a podcast from Electrolux’s Global Head of Marketing Technology Heather Hanson, describing her move from a traditional IT role into a global digital marketing position.

Each of these podcasts will be available for download on iTunes, SoundCloud and YouTube, as well as on the Episerver website.

“After more than 20 years’ working in digital marketing and IT, Episerver has witnessed rapid changes taking place within the technology space. One change that needs to move faster, however, is the inclusion of women within meaningful IT and technology leadership roles,” said Annette Obermeier, Director of Marketing Programs at Episerver.

“Women only make up 25% of the U.S. technology sector – a figure that drops even lower for senior positions – so we are using this year’s International Women’s Day as an opportunity to raise awareness of the central role women can play in digital marketing and IT. Launched in the spirit of Amelia Earhart, who carried the torch for so many aviation firsts, the Digital Ninety-Nines sets out to shine a light on the great work being carried out by women leaders in our industry. Rather than focusing on specific gender issues, our campaign focuses on leveraging the views and experiences of female experts to inspire marketers and contribute new insights.”
